A Family-Driven Volunteer Initiative

Welcome to AtNiVi

Uplifting children with autism, orphans, and the underprivileged through education, compassion, and community care — one act of kindness at a time.

Our Mission

Live with Purpose and Serve with Passion

AtNiVi is more than a name — it is a family's promise. Combining the first syllables of Atharv (son), Nivedita (wife), and Vikas (husband), it represents a household united in service. Rooted in spirituality, love, and dignity, we dedicate our time, resources, and devotion to uplifting children with autism, orphans, and the underprivileged. Every puja performed, every contribution made, every hand extended — all flow back to those who need it most.

How It Began

From a Family's Love to a Community's Hope

"AtNiVi" is a family-driven initiative named after our son Atharv, myself Nivedita, and my husband Vikas. Through this family-driven initiative, we contribute back to the community and support those in need.

I'm a chemical engineer by profession, living in New Jersey with my family. Currently, I serve as a Senior Process Engineer at Axens North America Princeton. My academic journey includes a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Mumbai University (2005) and a Master's in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers (2023), where I also worked as a research engineer in biofuels and plastic recycling through 2022.

A Spiritual Awakening

Rooted in Spirituality from a Young Age

From a young age, I have been deeply intrigued by spirituality, religious traditions, and rituals. My schooling took place in a convent school which instilled strong Christian values, contributing positively to my upbringing. As I matured, my interest in religious studies continued to flourish. During my undergraduate years, I embraced the teachings of Shree Swami Samarth and became a devoted follower.

Driven by my passion for spirituality, in 2023, I completed the Paurohitya Praveen Abhyas Varg program at the Bhishma School of Indic Studies. This advanced certification, recognized in the US, equipped me with the practical skills to perform various religious rituals and potentially serve as a certified Purohit. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn under the esteemed guidance of Acharya Somyaji Suhota Apte Agnihotri Guruji.

Rituals with Reason

Connecting Science and Spirituality

We belong to a specific sub-section in a society irrespective of any caste, creed, or religion. We practice the rituals followed by our society or the community around us. The kids of today's generation are incredibly sharp. They don't blindly follow what parents say and will appreciate the significance only after knowing the reasoning behind each ritual. I've been navigating this as a parent too, realizing the need to explain the significance and context of each practice, weaving in its cultural importance and, where relevant, even scientific connections.

In the Hindu religion, we are grateful for every small thing we have. Our way of life should be such that it benefits us and every creature around us. In short, the sustainability concept we hear daily in the modern world has been a part of our lives for ages. Take the simple act of Namaste, the folded-hand greeting. It signifies respect, yes, but did you know it's also like a mini acupressure session? Joining our fingertips activates pressure points linked to our eyes, ears, and mind, aiding in remembering the person we meet and deepening the connection. So, not only is it a respectful gesture, but it's also a memory booster — pretty cool, right?

Nevertheless, COVID-19 made it evident that no physical contact should be made to avoid the spread of the virus. Isn't this already followed from ancient times? Examples like this are numerous, and we only need a thought process and willingness to understand each practice.

Not Mere Rituals, But Science

As a Hindu, as I started reading and understanding the heart of Hinduism and our practices and rituals, I was more than convinced that our future generation should know this. Not as mere ritual but more scientifically. These spiritual teachings make one follow the path of good karma — lawful or moral actions producing positive reactions — to lead a life of peace and harmony. It's not limited to only the Hindu religion but it's true for all other religions as well.

My motto is to share this immense knowledge with our future generation and help them understand every practice we follow. This immense knowledge needs to reach our future generation. That's why I'm focused on sharing this understanding with them, helping them truly grasp the meaning and benefit behind every practice we follow. It's not about long, chanted mantras in Sanskrit anymore, which can sometimes seem distant and confusing. When I perform a puja, it's about explaining each step clearly, making it relatable and relevant. Our cultural heritage is a treasure, yes, but blind repetition won't spark interest in their hearts.

So it is our responsibility to connect the dots between Science and Spirituality for the larger good of humanity.

Passion with Purpose

I am profoundly grateful to the divine for blessing me with a loving family, dear friends, and many privileges. It would be an honor to make a modest contribution to help those who are less fortunate in our community. I am a firm believer in the principle of "Passion with purpose," and this effort reflects that belief.

All offerings (Dakshina) from the puja services, along with our own contributions, will be directed towards noble causes. These donations will support the well-being and education of orphaned children, children with autism, underprivileged students, and similar social efforts.

Puja Information

Sacred Hindu rituals conducted with devotion, understanding, and a commitment to tradition.

Rituals Rooted in Meaning

Each puja is performed with deep devotion and a commitment to explaining the reasoning and traditional significance behind every step. We believe in understanding our heritage — not merely following it. Clarity, meaning, and authentic Vedic tradition guide every ceremony.

Scheduling & Availability

Pujas are conducted on weekends due to full-time professional commitments. This allows each ceremony to receive the time, attention, and devotion it truly deserves. Every ritual is performed with clarity and reasoning — emphasizing traditional significance rather than blind following.

All Dakshina Goes to Charity

All Dakshina received, along with personal contributions, are fully directed toward charitable causes. When you participate in a puja, you are not only honoring a sacred tradition — you are directly supporting children with autism, orphans, and the underprivileged.
